Rotary Tiller or rotavator is a tractor driven tillage machinery that is used for oil cultivation. It cuts, mixes, pulverizes soil by using a series of blades. It is an economical and effective tool for seedbed preparation and can be used in place of a disc harrow, cultivator and leveller. Rotavator consists of a set of blades that spin and breaks through the soil by taking power from the tractor PTO. It improves the soil structure by breaking the clods, improving the water infiltration into the ground, and killing the weeds and previous crop residue. A farmer can prepare the land for sowing seeds in fewer passes using a rotavator than that of a plough. Key Functions or Uses of a Rotavator

A combine harvester plays a crucial role in the harvesting process and is the most versatile machinery used in farming. The farmers that grow grain crops on their farms, harvesting season is one of the most important time in farming operations as all their hard work depends on the quality of harvesting. From cutting to separating grains from the chaff needs time and doing it manually can take days of hard work. Collecting grains without affecting its quality is the main job and it needs to be done very carefully. There are several steps in harvesting, such as reaping or cutting, threshing and winnowing grains. In olden times farmers used to do each step manually to gather grains. Even today some farmers in remote areas and those with a low budget do all these manually or hire human labour for it. Few others use specific machines for every step such as – a thresher, winnowing machines etc. A Combine harvester is the best agricultural machinery and allows large scale producer and commercial farmers to get the best quality of grains. Farmers in India are already using multi-crop harvester for different types of grain crops like rice, wheat, corn, soybean etc. A harvester is expensive to farm machinery and a combine harvester price is usually more than that of other agricultural machinery. The combine harvester price in India can be different depending on the requirement. Using a multi-crop harvester has many advantages especially for commercial and large-scale farmers, so the cost makes it worth buying. Read here the benefits of using a combine harvester or multi-crop harvester–
Increasing mechanization in agriculture allows farmers to use new and modern technology farm equipment and they can achieve higher productivity with staying safe in the fields. A combine harvester is one of the most upgraded agricultural machinery that not only minimizes the hard work but also saves time making sure the safety of farmers while harvesting in rough weather. More than 50% population in India depends on agriculture for living and contributes to 16% of the GDP in India. Majority of the farmers in India reside in villages in our country. In spite of such a big number of people depending on the agriculture, people in our country lack the basic knowledge about agriculture machinery use in India. Many farmers in India are still unaware of the new improved ways to increase the productivity at their farms. A majority of the Indian population indulges in farming, yet our country is not able to produce enough food to feed own population. This is the reason our country has to import tons of food and grain products every year from some developed countries to feed the Indian population. Few reasons of this backwardness of our country in agriculture are mentioned below –
The farmers in India should use the right equipment Instead of taking help of animals in the farming. The latest agriculture equipment such as tractors, mould-board plough, rotavator, backhoe, combine harvester, water sprinklers or irrigation systems and many other help farmers to increase their productivity. Opting for mechanized farm equipment will help them get great results with the use of less manual power. For example opting for seed drill instead of manual seeding can reduce work load while increasing efficiency. Instead of depending on weather right irrigation system and other modernized equipment will help take good care of plants. Sometimes farmers have to suffer huge loss when crops fall prey due to pests. Choosing the right machinery like fertilizer spreader for pest management will increase the chances of plants to grow well. Farmers in India need to have more knowledge about agricultural machinery and their uses and manufacturers so it would be easy for them to gain access to farming implements in India. It will increase their work volume yet making it easier to increase crop growth. Agricultural mechanization is about covering all the levels of farming and modern farmers are using modern technologies based equipment in almost all farming activities. These equipment can be categorized from simple basic hand tools to modern motorized equipment. Here we have mentioned the key advantages of farm mechanization. Advantages of Mechanization
From past few years, agriculture sector has seen an increased use of mechanized equipment with modern technology. The agricultural machinery is always improving to increase efficiency. In fact, it has increased production on farms significantly. Farmers are able to produce more food products with fewer inputs, like seeds and fertilizer, as compare to the 1950. Better and sensible use of modern farm equipment not only improves farmer’s life but also consumer livelihood. Here we have mentioned a few equipment options for farmers that help increasing productivity. Tractors – Majorly used by modern farmers it is a versatile machinery that helps farmers to work on farm by attaching implements. Farmers can also take their products to the markets away from the farm, with this modern transportation. Farm Implements – Different types of farm implements make planting, maintaining, and harvesting more efficient for farmers. When running a farm, timing is the key for a farmer and running behind schedule can ruin their crop. Farm implements like cultivator, rotavator or rotary tiller, plough, mulcher, balers, threshers, combine harvester etc. not only make tasks easy for farmers but also help them meet timelines for different activities from ploughing to harvesting. Irrigation System: Irrigation systems are especially important for farms where climate is hot or dry. Modern irrigation systems allow farmers to set up a simple irrigation system that can easily be operated and managed and works for their entire farm. Trailers or Refrigerated Trailers: It plays crucial role in keeping the crop fresh during the process, when farmers require moving or transporting their perishable crops. Fortunately, refrigerated trailers make it possible. A mechanized manipulation of the soil to provide favourable condition for crop growth is known as Tilling or ploughing. Soil tillage or ploughing consists of several steps such as, breaking the compact surface to a certain depth and loosen the soil mass to enable the crop crops to penetrate and spread into the soil. Ploughing is performed as a primary operation in farming to cut, break and invert the soil partially or completely in the process of making a seedbed. Ploughing essentially is done to open the hard upper layer of the soil and break the clods to make it suitable for sowing seeds. Mould-board Plough– A Mould board plough consists of mainly share, a mould board, land side, frog and tail piece. A share is a sharp, well-polished and pointed part that pierces through the soil to make a horizontal cut under the surface. The shares are made of special wear-resistant steel blades. The mould-board lifts, turns and breaks the furrow slice after receiving it from the share. A mould-board plough comes in different designs and shapes to suit different types of soil conditions and crop requirements. The mouldboard is generally used to cope with trashy conditions. Advantages of Mould-board Plough
Disc Plough – A disc plough cuts, turns and breaks soil by separately mounted large steel discs. A disc plough is designed in such a way that it reduces friction. It uses rolling discs instead of sliding plough bottom. A disc plough is suitable for the conditions where a mould-board plough does not work perfectly. Advantages of disc plough
Tilling is one of the most essential practices in landscaping, gardening and farming that is done to break up the soil, allowing it better air circulation and water flow. Rotary Tillers is one of the most important agricultural machinery, used to convert hard layers of the soil into perfect seedbed by mixing it until it is fine enough for planting. A rotary tiller is used in different sizes as per the operating requirement and size of the job. For harsh jobs like landscaping needs a rotary tiller with robust capabilities and is powered by the PTO shaft on small, mid-sized, and heavy-duty tractors. Powered by Tractor’s PTO, the rotating shaft of the tiller digs soil with its attached set of curved blades to condition the earth. Generally the depth of tilling can be up to six inches and more than this can be unnecessary. The size of the tiller should be more than the outer width of the tractor tires to till the land with no gaps. For best results make sure to overlap the tilled soil in each round. Spring is the season when most of the people begin tilling for planting seeds for next year’s harvest. If you have to till an un-tilled land with rotavator, better you start with ploughing first, allowing it to sit through the winter. Whether the soil is already tilled or not, make sure not to rush the first or second round, as it I s required to condition the soil sufficiently the seeds growth. Once the soil has loosened, the tilling depth and speed can be increased and you can continue further rounds until the soil is conditioned to the desired depth of four to 6 inches removing the remaining clods of the soil. |
