Tillage is an important soil management practice done with various types of farm equipment. Equipment specifically used for soil tilling are also known as tillage equipment. These tools or equipment help in breaking up clods and hard surface crusts of soil, improves soil particles and surface uniformity. The purpose of soil tilling also is to prevent weed growth and destroy the existing weeds. Some of the commonly used of soil tillage equipment are as follows: What are the most common type of tillage equipment? Disc Plough – A Disc plough consist cuts through the soil turning it over, in some cases they break furrow slices. The disc plough consists of round, concave discs of hardened steel, sharpened and sometimes toothed on the edge, with diameters extending from 20 to 38 inches. It is best suitable to be used in sticky non-scouring soils, in dry and hard ground, in peat soils for deep ploughing. It is used as an attachment to the tractor to plough the soil. Disc Harrow - A disco harrow is consists of a number of steel or iron discs to plough the soil and remove and unwanted weeds or crop remainders. It shuffles the soil properly allowing newly planted seeds to grow faster. It chops the weeds with using its sharp steel blades and also kills any unwanted plants around the planted crops. Rotavator or Rotary Tiller - A rotavator is used for preparing the final seedbed for planting. It is either used as an attachment to a tractor or driven by a gasoline engine to break up top soil. It consists of spinning blades or rotors attached to either the front or rear of a tiller. These blades spin and slice the soil, to break clods and give it a smooth structure to mix compost and add nutrients in the soil which ultimately helps enhance soil productivity. What is Zero Tillage Management? Zero tillage or no-till is a practice where the crops seeds are directly placed into the soil without soil tilling or creating any disturbances in the existing soil structure. A Zero tillage seed drill places seeds right into the soil in an evenly manner and at a fixed depth with minimal soil disturbance. The no-till process not only reduces the soil cultivation cost for a farmer but also reduces soil erosion, weed effect and irrigation requirement. The main advantage of using zero tillage is it reduces soil erosion, improves soil biological fertility makes it more resilient resulting in high quality crops.

I'm a women, interested in agriculture, crop farming, I have a Ten Hector farm, presently interested to start with cabbage and grow my business from there, please help me with the equipments that I can use from planting seeds in trays, transferring them to the prepared soil until harvesting. What equipments do I need for this project. Thanks
